Akara Resources (formerly Akara Mining Limited) was incorporated and registered as a private company under Thai law in 1993. Akara is the owner and operator of the Chatree Mining Complex in Thailand. We are a subsidiary of Kingsgate Consolidated Limited; an Australian Securities Exchange ("ASX") listed company. The Kingsgate Group held 48.2% of our outstanding share capital as of June 30, 2013.

- 1994, commenced exploration activities in Thailand.
- June 2000, received 5 mining leases covering Chatree South.
- January 2001, BOI granted commercial benefits to the Company in connection with the Chatree Processing Plant.
- December 2000 - November 2001, Chatree Processing Plant and associated infrastructure constructed.
- November 2001, Chatree Processing Plant commissioned and we commercially commenced gold production at Chatree South.
- December 2003, expansion of the Chatree Processing Plant was completed increased its nameplate capacity to 2.0 million tonnes per annum.
- December 2006, further expansion of the Chatree Processing Plant was completed increasing nameplate capacity to approximately 2.3 million tonnes per annum.
- July 2008, the Chatree North mining leases granted. The addition tripled the area available for mining and led to the access of much larger defined Ore Reserve.
- November 2008, commenced mining activities at Chatree North.
- June 2010, BOI granted commercial benefits to the Company in connection with the expansion of the Chatree Processing Plant.
- June 2012 final stages of commissioning and plant optimisation trials of the expansion of the Chatree Processing Plant to a total nameplate capacity of 5.0 million tonnes per annum were largely completed
- November 2012 Metallurgical licence was granted for Chatree Processing plant. The expanded plant has a nameplate capacity of 5.0 mtpa and is currently operating at 6.2 million tonnes per annum.
